Brief Profile

Dr. Raja Jerald has joined the department in June 2011 as a Managment Faculty. After completing his studies in B.A (Pol Sc), M.A., M.Phil. & Ph.D in the department of Public Administration in Madras Christian College, Dr. Raja Jerald began his career in the Madras Christian Council of Social Service [MCCSS] and worked for the development of the urban community. During his service in MCCSS, he did a special study on the “Harassment of Young Girls Working in the Garment Industries”, in Chennai and suburbs, and submitted his report to the TN State AIDS & Control Society, Chennai.  He also did his M.A. (Sociology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relation from Annamalai University. His area of specialization in his Ph.D program was “Organization, management and Working of  Electrical multiple Unit with special reference to  Southeran Railways – A Study.” 

From 1999 to 2011, he served in the United Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India (UELCI), holding various positions working at national level, organizing seminars and workshops both for the Lutheran and other Ecumenical Churches for the young people, lay person and church leaders on several topics, spiritually and socially. He was involved in the Evangelical Ministry in various tribal area in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. 

He was a member in the executive committee of the Student Christian Movement of India during 2007-10. He completed his Bachelors in Christian Studies [BCS] from the Senate of Serampore in 2010. He is a member of the Haggai Alumuni and has attended an International Conference on “Leadership Skills on Evangelism” at Hawaii.

  • "The Role of Judiciary in Protection of Environment" in the two-day National Seminar on "Dimensions of Judicial Activism" organized by Saveetha School of Law, Saveetha University, Chennai held during 25th and 26th February 2012.
  • "Good Governance and e-Governance - Its Impact on the Southern State in India" during the 54th National Indian Political Science Association Conference in Lucknow held on 28th - 30th December 2011 organized by Indian Political Science Association.
