Highlights of the Programme

About Us

Commenced in 2001, the Department of Computer Application envisions imparting high-end skills in software development to excel in the software industry and to train the students to develop soft skills with global developing academically competent and professionally motivated personnel equipped with objective and critical thinking that foster a scientific temper with a sense of social responsibility.

The Department commenced in 2001 with 50 students. The Department now has two sections with a total strength of 300 students. The Department aims at providing high-quality training to students through cutting-edge computer technology. To cope with the rapidly changing facets of Computer technology, the Department constantly upgrades the Curriculum. The Under Graduate Programme spans three years divided into six semesters with 140 credits under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). The syllabus is flexible and wide-ranging, incorporating the latest trends while ensuring a firm grasp of core fundamentals. The thrust areas include Data Mining, Cloud Computing and Natural Language Processing. The Department is headed by Ms D Sathiya Priya
