Dr. Obed Jackson R. has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism since June 2015. He has a Ph.D in tourism management. He is also an MCC alumni. His areas of interest include tourism, aviation, and logistics. He has served the college in a variety of administrative roles and as a member of a few units. He is currently acting as IQAC’s Associate Coordinator. To meet his academic requirements, he takes the orientation, refresher, and short-term course offered by UGC-MHRD. Published six papers with ISBN, three papers with ISSN, presented and published sixteen papers at national and five international conferences. It is worth noting that he also authored a textbook on Human Geography for TNOU. He has been invited to different universities and colleges in India and overseas for academic engagements such as external member for semester examinations, member of the board of studies, member of the doctoral committee, guest speaker, journal review, and so on. In 2018, the department recognized him as the best class tutor. Dr. Obed played an essential role in curriculum design and syllabus development for the program. He is currently working with colleges and universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Korea to promote global involvement. Attended the UNWTO Conference in Muscat in 2019. He is a resident staff member at the college. He consider his teaching profession as life’s calling and he is committed to do this service faithfully, there by producing educated minds who will do their service with academic excellence and integrity.
