Biography

  1. Dr. A K Abinesh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism at Madras Christian College, Chennai, with over 15 years of academic experience. He teaches Media Organisation, Web Journalism, Communication Theories, Photography, Photojournalism, and Audio-Visual Production courses. His areas of specialisation include computer graphics, multimedia production, and media research.
  2. His recent research focuses on media usage in agriculture and youth engagement with social media. Notable publications include “Suicidal Risk Identification in Social Media” (Procedia Computer Science, 2021) and “UZHAVAN App—A Descriptive Study Through TAM Framework,” both of which highlight the intersection of technology and communication.
  3. Dr. Abinesh has served as a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Digital Journalism, Kaushal Kendra, Loyola College, and coordinated diploma programs in Photography and Computer Graphics at the School of Continuing Education, Madras Christian College. He has presented papers at various national and international conferences and was a delegate at the 5th State Level Consultation on Functional Community Radio.
  4. His contributions to media education and rural communication research have earned him academic recognition, including a Gold Medal in M.Phil., and several citations in reputed journals.
