Dr. Amirthavalli is teaching both UG and PG in MCC from OCTOBER 2002 onwards. Her areas of interest include: (i) ACADEMIC: INORGANIC CHEMISTRY & EXPERIMENTAL CHEMISTRY, (ii) RESEARCH: CHEMICAL EDUCATION AND NANOMATERIALS and (iii) OTHER RELATED AREAS: COUNSELLING & DOCUMENTATION. She had received a grant of Rs. Rs. 1,80,000/- for a minor project entitled ‘Micelle assisted synthesis of nanostructured Ni-Zn ferrites: Investigation of magnetic properties’ from UGC during 2012. Her publications are: (i) ‘Facile room temperature CTAB – assisted synthesis of mesoporous nano-cobalt ferrites for enhanced magnetic behaviour, Mater. Res. Bull. 100 (2018) 289 – 294 (ii) ‘Effect of zinc precursor ratio on morphology and luminescent properties of ZnO particles synthesized in CTAB medium’, Ceram. Int. 44 (2018) 15290 – 15297. Dr. Amirthavalli has passion towards teaching and served as: (i) Resource person for National Search Examination in Chemistry and for Indian Chemistry Olympiad at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, TIFR, Mumbai, and (ii) Resource Person for Competitive examination (Inorganic Chemistry) in several institutes
