The 181 year old Madras Christian College launched its second new Community College at Northernhay, Kotagiri on 27 th August 2018.
The 10.79 acre sprawling campus with lush green tea garden and a bungalow was bought by Ms. Edge, an American Missionary, from the Webb-Pepploe family, for creating a Christian Holiday Fellowship Home for Indian Nationals and was named as “Kotagiri Chritu Mitra Sangam” in the year 1948. This place was governed by the Indian members of the Sangam since the departure of Ms. Edge from India in the year 1967. As the members of the Sangam wished to hand over the property to a like-minded organization, they identified Madras Christian College to be the ideal Institution for perpetuating the Vision of Ms. Edge and the sangam.
