The Department of Communication at Madras Christian College is one that stands out for more reasons than one. The department celebrates its 19th year since its inception in 2002 and has been growing in stature and reputation.
The department, as always, opens its arms to welcome students from various disciplines, just as long as they have a burning aspiration for media and communication.
This programme offers a platform to transform theory into practical experiences and to gear the students to meet the needs of the media industry. Theory-cum-practical specialization subjects such as Event Management, photography, public relations and corporate communication, advertising- aspects and aesthetics, online journalism, documentary film making, media management, film studies are a part of the curriculum that offers much-sought-after careers to many students.
The programme aims to produce, not only responsible media persons, but also desires to sensitise citizens to social concerns thereby creating bigger mind-space for people of the global village.
