The Department of Chemistry under the self-financed stream was established in 2003. The department offers a postgraduate program leading to the degree of Master of Science. Being a general course in Chemistry, students can acquire a good knowledge of organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, environmental, and medicinal chemistry.
At present, three full-time faculty members are involved in teaching, and the expertise from the aided stream faculty is also utilized. The department has well equipped laboratories and separate library with all needed books. The students can execute a project in collaboration with an industry or a national laboratory.
