Biography

Udhayaraj is an Assistant Professor in the PG and Research Department of English, with a strong commitment to teaching and scholarly research. He holds an M.A. in English and has qualified both the NET and SET examinations. At the undergraduate level, he teaches core courses such as Literary Forms, Social History of England, and Eighteenth Century English Fiction. For postgraduate students, his teaching portfolio includes Literary Theory and Criticism, Shakespearean Tragedies, Postcolonial Studies, Subaltern Writings, and Cultural Studies.

His academic interests lie in Regional Literature, Literary Theory and Criticism, History of Ideas, Subaltern Writings, and Dalit Studies. Udhayaraj is actively engaged in scholarly discourse, having presented papers such as “Novel as Enlightenment” at the FDP organized by Patrician College of Arts and Science, and “Indigenizing Cultural Studies” at the FDP hosted by Madras Christian College.

He has also contributed to academic publishing, with his paper “Narration as a Methodology: A Reading of Stalin Rajangam’s Film Criticism” appearing in Puthiya Panuval Research Journal. His work reflects a deep engagement with critical theory and a dedication to foregrounding marginalized voices in literature and culture.
