MCC Institution Innovation Council (MCC-IIC)

About Us

Madras Christian has established the Institution Innovation Council (MCC-IIC) during September 2020 as per the norms of Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India. The objective of MCC-IIC is to systematically foster innovation culture among students by creating a vibrant local innovation ecosystem and promoting start-up/ entrepreneurship supporting mechanism for the staff and students.

The main functions of MCC- IIC are:

  • To motivate, inspire and nurture students and staff by supporting them to work with new ideas, problem statements and transform them into innovative and entrepreneurship related endeavours.
  • To support young innovators to work with new ideas and convert them to prototypes and facilitate patenting and start-up ventures.
  • To conduct periodic discussions/ workshops/ seminars/ and arrange interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • While the principal being the president of MCC-IIC all activities and events will be administered by a team of faculty members, external council members, financial advisors and industrial experts as per the guidelines of MIC. The staff-convener compiles and submits the periodical reports of all activities to MIC.
