National Cadet Corps

Madras Christian College has a rich heritage and history of 95 years of National Cadet Corps present since 1924. There are 174 cadets serving in all the three wings i.e. Infantry, Navy and Air Force. In accordance with the motto “Unity and discipline”, the cadets are inculcated with basic military training such as foot drill, weapon drill, firing, map reading, tent pitching, sailing, flying etc. Cadets are also encouraged to participate in various national level camps, adventure training, social service activities and awareness campaigns.

Cadets of MCC regularly get selected for the prestigious camps such as Republic Day Camps, Youth Exchange Programmes, Thal Sainik, Nau Sainik & Vayu Sainik camps, Yachting camp, Parasailing camp, Overseas development programme, trekking and mountaineering camps, etc. They also involve in various activities like Swachh Bharat mission, tree plantation, blood donation and disaster management. NCC of Madras Christian College has trained scores of students, many of whom have attained prestigious positions in the country, including Gen. K. Sundarji, Former Chief of Army Staff, Indian Army.

Registration for the Academic year 2022-2023 under Part V (1 credit)
NCC is a three-year service. Students who join in NCC should not be part of any other Part 5 programs.
Incentives for NCC cadets:
• Bonus marks for higher studies and Government jobs.
• Preference in the selection for State/ Central Uniformed Services
• Direct Commission as officers in the Indian Defence Services
