Dr. Alexander John Boyd
The Madras Christian College is proud to name its new venture, MCC Boyd Business School after Dr. Alexander John Boyd with a reason. This legendary Principal pioneered the development of MCC for 18 long years from 1938 to 1956, in addition to his services as Professor for over another 20 years. He was called the “Prince of Principals”. Generations of students and faculty fondly remember his contributions even today. Dr.Boyd preached and practiced Principles of Management long before they were formally acquiesced by the Business World. The Business School is founded on the bedrock of MCC values - Academic Excellence, Spiritual Vitality and Social Relevance.
It is my privilege to bring warm greetings to you from Madras Christian College, a great institution founded by the Rev. John Anderson, a Scottish Missionary, 182 years ago. That the College will continue to strive towards academic excellence, spiritual vitality and social relevance shall be our main concern. I am delighted to state that the new venture of Madras Christian College, the MCC Boyd Business School, with its rich legacy, besides being blessed by His divine hands, will be able to contribute richly in shaping young minds towards Nation building.
MCC Boyd Business School envisions a World-class Business Education Centre to serve the changing needs of the Business world, with an unparalleled educational journey that is intellectually, socially, and personally transformative.
To mould the professional aspirants as socially responsible Business-Leaders by connecting with the challenges of the corporate world, grounded in the guiding principles of MCC -“Spiritual Vitality, Social Relevance and Academic Excellence”.
