General Instructions

Dear Candidates,

Kindly note the following instructions for UG and PG Admission.

UG Admission

  • The Online application portal will be open from 18.06.2022.
  • Plus two marks are mandatory for applying. 10th and 11th standard marks will not be accepted.
  • Candidates who have completed 12th in the previous years and other Board students who have received their mark statements can also apply.
  • Admissions will start only after the 12th results are declared by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Kindly read the instructions and prospectus thoroughly before submitting the online application. Incomplete or applications with wrong data will be considered invalid.
  • On successful completion of the online application and payment of the application fees online, you will receive an SMS and mail to your registered mobile number and E-mail id.
  • SMS and mail will have an application number which can be used for future reference.
  • For SC/ST category, free applications will be available for ONE AIDED UG course only. To avail the free application form for SC/ST candidates, they must bring the original and a photocopy of their Aadhaar Card and Community Certificate in person to the college to collect the Alphanumeric Code from 20.06.2022.
  • No offline admissions will be done in the College. Hard Copies of the application form will not be sold in the College.
  • No free applications will be given for Self-Financed Courses and all PG Courses.

PG Admission

  • Candidates can apply with five-semester marks
  • Candidates need to upload semester mark sheets and relevant documents while applying online.

How to fill the forms

  • Start by clicking “Admissions 2022 – 2023”.
  • Duly fill all details and click “PAY ONLINE” to complete the application procedure (Application fee will be automatically loaded while making payment).
  • After successful payment, MCC ID will be generated and will be sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Use this MCC ID for further reference.
  • Only one application per course is permitted
  • The admissions office will contact the candidates only through their registered mobile number and E-mail address.
  • You are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the College throughout the admission process.
  • Applications with incorrect/manipulated information will be immediately rejected. Payment of incorrect application fee will also lead to non-consideration of the application.
  • Selected candidates will be intimated through their registered mobile number and E-mail address. A list of selected students will also be displayed on the College notice board and in the College website. Admission/Enrollment card will be sent to your registered E-mail address.
  • Admission to any course does not guarantee Hall (Hostel) accommodation. Application should be submitted separately to the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) for Hall accommodation after enrollment to the course by payment of course fees.

The college does not accept donations for admission.  If anyone promises admission on payment of donation in cash or kind, it must be brought to the notice of the Principal immediately. If not, it will lead to the cancellation of admission.

Application procedure is completely online. There will be no sale of application forms in the College premises.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Govt. Aided Undergraduate Programmes

  • A pass in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination.
  • Plus two marks are a must for applying. (Please note that you cannot apply with 10th or 11th Standard Marks).
  • The upper age limit for admission to UG courses is 21 years as on 1st July 2022. Relaxation of 5 years is permitted for differently-abled and 3 years for women students.
  • Candidates from Boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSCE and ISCE must produce an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras. All candidates who pass the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu State Board by PRIVATE STUDY and PRIVATE candidates from CBSE or under the OPEN SCHOOL SYSTEM should also produce an Eligibility Certificate.
  • The College offers Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit, German and French as Part I Language for the aided courses. A student can opt for any one of these languages. For Tamil and Hindi, the candidate should have studied the subject as a second language in XII and X standards.
  • Applicants for B.A. Economics should have taken Mathematics in the Higher Secondary Examination or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Com. should have taken a combination of Commerce, Accountancy and Business Mathematics/Mathematics in the Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry should have taken a combination of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the Higher Secondary examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Statistics should have taken a combination of Statistics and Mathematics or studied Mathematics for the Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology/Zoology should have taken a combination of Biology and Chemistry in the Higher Secondary Examination or other qualifying examinations.

Eligibility for Govt. Aided Postgraduate Programmes

  • Minimum eligibility is in accordance with the University of Madras/Department (MCC) regulations. Postgraduate courses in Arts and Sciences require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the respective subject except for Public Administration, Philosophy, Political Science and Tamil.
  • Candidates can apply with five-semester mark statements.
  • Any graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate is eligible to apply for MSW (CD & MP).
  • For M.Sc. courses in Statistics, Physics and Chemistry, the candidate is required to have opted for a paper in Mathematics at the Undergraduate level, besides the basic requirement. For Zoology and Plant Biology & Plant Biotechnology, the candidate should have opted for a paper in Chemistry at the Undergraduate level, besides the basic requirements.

Eligibility for Undergraduate Programmes – Self Financed Stream (SFS)

  • A pass in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
  • Plus two marks are a must for applying (You cannot apply with 10th or 11th Marks).
  • The upper age limit for admission to UG courses is 21 years as on 1st July 2022. Relaxation of 5 years is permitted for differently-abled and 3 years for women students.
  • Candidates from Boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSCE and ISCE must produce an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras.   • For admission into B.B.A. a pass in Higher Secondary Examinations is required. Preference will be given for those who have studied Commerce and Accountancy.
  • Applicants for B.C.A. should have taken a group with Mathematics in Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Microbiology should have taken a group with Biology/Botany and Zoology in Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc. Physics should have taken Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Candidates with a pass in Higher Secondary Examination or any other qualifying examinations are eligible to apply for the following courses: B.A. English Language and Literature, B.A Journalism, B.S.W., B.Sc. Physical Education, B.Sc. Geography, Tourism & Travel Management,  B.Sc. Visual Communication and B.Sc Psychology.

Eligibility for Postgraduate Programmes – Self Financed Stream (SFS)

  • Candidates can apply with five-semester mark statements.
  • All graduates with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible for applying for M.A. Communication.
  • All graduates with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible for applying for MSW (HRM).
  • Graduates in Chemistry with a paper in Mathematics are eligible to apply for M.Sc. Chemistry.
  • Graduates with specialization in Microbiology/Botany/Zoology/Bio-Chemistry/Nutrition and Dietetics /Chemistry are eligible to apply for M.Sc. Applied Microbiology.
  • Graduates in Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration, Bank Management, Corporate Secretaryship, E-Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent qualification with Accountancy as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for M.Com. Computer Oriented Business Application.

Eligibility for MCA

  • First-class in any degree, with Mathematics as a core/allied subject or Mathematics as one of the subjects in +2. Admission will be based on TANCET conducted by the Anna University or any other Common Entrance Test recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu (Only TANCET 2022 score will be accepted).

Online Enrollment Procedure & Certificate Verification

Your Admission is NOT COMPLETE after making payment of Course Fee.

The candidate has to proceed with enrollment procedures soon after making online payment. Enrollment procedure must be completed on or before the date specified in the admission/enrollment card. The admission is complete only after enrollment is done . Admission will get cancelled if the candidate fails to complete the enrollment procedure on or before the date given in the admission/enrollment card.

What is ONLINE Enrollment?

The online portal for enrolment will open only on online payment of fees. Enrollment is a simple method of submission of details of students through an online portal. Online enrollment has to be done by the candidate. For this you need to login to enrollment in MCC admission portal and upload the necessary documents and save the documents. Once you finish the enrolment process you have to wait for further notification in the MCC website or in the registered Mobile /E-mail regarding certificate verification.

What is CERTIFICATE Verification?

After successfully paying the fee and completing the online enrolment, the students have to do certificate verification. Certificate verification has to be done by submitting the original certificates and other materials in person at the venue specified by the admission office in the presence of the parents or local guardian. 

How will I receive the Official Email Id?

After paying the fees, completing the online enrollment and certificate verification (subject to change), a unique E-mail Id will be activated for each student and it will be intimated through the respective department. The unique E-mail Id will be (Application number@mcc.edu.in). Students can use the unique E-mail Id for all official and academic purposes. If you have any issues with the unique E-mail Id, please mail teamwebsite@mcc.edu.in .

**Please ensure that the mobile number and E-mail Id given by the student in the application/enrollment is active for the department/office to contact you. 

Requirements for Certificate Verification

Kindly bring ORIGINAL AND 2 SETS OF PHOTOCOPIES of all the documents given below. Please check whether you have arranged the documents in the following order.

Note:

For CBSE and ICSE students – Migration and Pass Certificate Required. 

For UG Students of Boards other than Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board – Migration, Pass Certificate and Eligibility Certificate are required

For PG Students of Universities other than University of Madras –  Migration, Provisional Degree Certificate and Eligibility Certificate are required

Eligibility Certificate has to be obtained from University of Madras.

  • During Certificate verification, students have to come along with parents / local guardian.
  • Student should come only on the date specified for certificate verification
