Dear Applicant,

Welcome to the application portal of Madras Christian College for Admissions 2021-2022. Please read the instructions given below to complete the application process;

General Instructions

  • Start by clicking “Admissions 2021 – 2022”.
  • Duly fill all required details and click “PAY ONLINE” to complete the application procedure (Application fee will be automatically loaded while making payment).
  • After successful payment, MCC ID will be generated and will be sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Use this MCC ID for further reference.
  • Only one application per course is permitted
  • The admissions office will contact the candidates only through their registered mobile number and email address.
  • You are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the College throughout the admission process.
  • Applications with incorrect/manipulated information will be immediately rejected. Payment of incorrect application fee will also lead to non-consideration of the application.
  • Selected candidates will be intimated through their registered mobile number and the email address. The list of selected students will also be displayed on the College notice board and in the College website. Admission/Enrollment card will be sent to your registered email address.
  • Admission to any course does not guarantee Hall/Hostel accommodation. Application should be submitted separately to the Dean of Students Affairs (DSA) for Hall (Hostel) accommodation after being enrolled to the course by payment of course fees.

The college does not accept donations for admission.  If anyone promises admission on payment of donation in cash or kind, it must be brought to the notice of the Principal immediately, if not, it will lead to cancellation of admission.

Application procedure is completely online. There will be no sale of application forms in the College premises.

Free SC/ST category application facility can be availed only for ONE AIDED UG course by emailing a softcopy (Photo or scanned) of your Aadhar Card and Community Certificate to admission@mcc.edu.in.

After receiving your mail, the admissions office will verify your documents and will provide access to the free application portal. (Note: Alphanumeric Code will be issued only after the declaration of Higher Secondary Exam results by the Tamil Nadu Government and only to Candidates with SC/ST Certificate issued by Tamil Nadu Government)

No free application for Self – Financed Courses and all PG Courses.

Eligibility

Eligibility for Govt. Aided Undergraduate Programmes

  • A pass in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent Examination.
  • Plus two marks are a must for applying. (Please note that you cannot apply with 10th or 11th Marks).
  • The upper age limit for admission to UG courses will be 21 years as on 1st July 2021. Relaxation of 5 years is permitted for differently abled and 3 years for women students.
  • Candidates from Boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board, CBSE, AISSCE and ISCE must produce an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras. All candidates who pass the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu State Board by PRIVATE STUDY and PRIVATE candidates from CBSE or under the OPEN SCHOOL SYSTEM should also produce an Eligibility Certificate.
  • The College offers Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit, German and French as Part I Language for the aided courses. A student can opt for any one of these languages. For Tamil and Hindi, the candidate should have studied the subject as a second language in XII and X standards.
  • Applicants for B.A. Economics should have taken Mathematics at the Higher Secondary Examination or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Com. should have taken a combination of Commerce, Accountancy and Business Mathematics/Mathematics in the Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry should have taken a combination of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Higher Secondary examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Statistics should have taken a combination of Statistics and Mathematics or studied Mathematics for the Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology/Zoology should have taken a combination of Biology and Chemistry at the Higher Secondary Examination or other qualifying examinations.

Eligibility for Govt. Aided Postgraduate Programmes

  • Minimum eligibility is in accordance with the University of Madras/Department (MCC) regulations. Postgraduate courses in Arts and Sciences require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the respective subject except for Public Administration, Philosophy, Political Science and Tamil.
  • Candidates can apply with five-semester mark statements.
  • Any graduate with a minimum of 50% aggregate is eligible to apply for MSW (CD & MP).
  • For M.Sc. courses in Statistics, Physics and Chemistry, the candidate is required to have opted for a paper in Mathematics at the Undergraduate level, besides the basic requirement. For Zoology and Plant Biology & Plant Biotechnology, the candidate should have opted for a paper in Chemistry at the Undergraduate level, besides the basic requirements.

Eligibility for Undergraduate Programmes – Self Financed Stream (SFS)

  • A pass in the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.
  • Plus two marks are a must for applying (Please note you cannot apply with 10th or 11th Marks).

  • For admission into B.B.A. A pass in Higher Secondary Examinations. Preference will be given for those who have studied Commerce and Accountancy.
  • Applicants for B.C.A. should have taken a group with Mathematics in Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Microbiology should have taken a group with Biology/Botany and Zoology in Higher Secondary Examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Applicants for B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc. Physics should have taken Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Higher Secondary examinations or other qualifying examinations.
  • Candidates with a pass in Higher Secondary Examination or any other qualifying examinations are eligible to apply for the following courses: B.A. English Language and Literature, B.A Journalism, B.S.W., B.Sc. Physical Education, B.Sc. Geography, Tourism & Travel Management and B.Sc. Visual Communication.

Eligibility for Postgraduate Programmes – Self Financed Stream (SFS)

  • Candidates can apply with five-semester mark statements.
  • All graduates with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible for applying for M.A. Communication.
  • All graduates with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible for applying for MSW (HRM).
  • Graduates in Chemistry with a paper in Mathematics are eligible to apply for M.Sc. Chemistry.
  • Graduates with specialization in Microbiology/Botany/Zoology/Bio-Chemistry/Nutrition and Dietetics /Chemistry are eligible to apply for M.Sc. Applied Microbiology.
  • Graduates in Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration, Bank Management, Corporate Secretaryship, E-Commerce, and Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent qualification with Accountancy as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for M.Com. Computer Oriented Business Application.

Eligibility for MCA

  • First class in any degree, with Mathematics as core/allied subject or Mathematics as one of the subjects in +2. Admission will be based on TANCET conducted by the Anna University or any other Common Entrance Test recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu (Only TANCET 2021 score will be accepted).

Online Enrollment Procedure & Certificate Verification

Your Admission is NOT COMPLETE after making payment of Course Fee.

Candidate has to proceed with enrollment procedures soon after making online payment. Enrollment procedure must be completed on or before the date specified in the admission/enrollment card. Only after completing enrollment process does the admission get completed. Admission will get cancelled if the candidate fails to complete the enrollment procedure on or before the date given in the admission/enrollment card.

What is ONLINE Enrollment?

The online portal for enrolment will open only on online payment of fees. Enrollment is a simple method of submission of details of students through an online portal. Online enrollment has to be done by the candidate. For this you need to login to enrollment in MCC admission portal and upload the necessary documents and save the documents. Once you finish the enrolment process you have to wait for further notification in the MCC website or in the registered Mobile /Email Id regarding Certificate verification.

What is CERTIFICATE Verification?

After successfully paying the fee and completing the online enrolment the students have to do certificate verification. Certificate verification has to be done by submitting the original certificates and other materials in person, at the venue specified by the admission office, in the presence of the parents or local guardian. 

How will I receive the Official Email ID?

After paying the fees, completing the online enrollment and Certificate verification (subject to change), a unique email Id will be activated for each student and it will be intimated through the respective department. The unique email ID will be (Application number@mcc.edu.in). Student can access the online classroom using the unique email ID. If you have any issues with the unique email ID, please mail to teamwebsite@mcc.edu.in .

**Please ensure that the mobile number and email Id given by the student in the application/enrollment is active for the department/office to contact you. 

Requirements for Certificate Verification

  • Admission Card (2 Photocopies)
  • Fees receipt (2 photocopies)
  • Transfer and conduct certificate (Original with 2 photocopies)
  • Community certificate (Original with 2 photocopies)
  • Declaration Form filled during online enrolment (Original)
  • 3 passport and 2 stamp size photographs
  • Student Bank Account Details (front page of Bank Passbook)
  • Copy of Aadhar Card
  • Copy of Covid-19-Vaccination Certificate (if taken)
  • Copy of passport/visa/residential permit for International Students.
  • Mark statement (s) – (Original with 2 photocopies)

UG Program:

  1. From Tamil Nadu State Board – Mark statement
  2. From CBSE – Mark statement, Migration Certificate
  3. From ISCE – Mark statement, Migration Certificate, Pass Certificate
  4. From Other Board – Mark statement with Provisional Eligibility

PG Program & M.Phil Program:

Note :

  • During Certificate verification, students have to come along with parents / local guardian.
  • Student should come only on the date specified for certificate verification
  • Due to COVID -19 students from containment zones are requested to come later than the due date after obtaining prior permission.

*** Your admission will be automatically cancelled if fees are not remitted and enrollment not completed within the due date. Students who are provisionally admitted cannot claim refund of fee if they decide to discontinue their course (Subject to condition)
