The first M G Kini Endowment Lecture was delivered by Dr. Brian MacHarg, Director of Academic Civil Engagement in the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success, Appalachian State University, USA on 4th March 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. Dr. Feminna Sheeba, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science (MCA) led the opening prayer. Principal Dr. P. Wilson, addressed the staff members who were deputed by the Department. He gave an overview of the Service Learning Programme and the importance to integrate it with academic teaching and learning process. Followed by this, Dr. Brian addressed the staff members. He shared the importance of Service Learning Programme for the development of an individual, institution and community by and large. He shared experiences of students benefitting with the SLPs and able to convert their theoretical knowledge into practical experiences which can give a perspective transformation for the students.
