MCC-MRF Innovation Park (MMIP), established in Madras Christian College is a dedicated ecosystem to foster advanced research, Innovative Start Up Ideas and nurture Entrepreneurs.
Recurrent events including the awareness programmes on the essential topics, meet with Entrepreneurs, bootcamps, mentor clinics and other special events run in series. Regular Ideation Bootcamps with sessions from proficient mentors help refine in idea validation, market research strategies, deriving a lean model and eventually pitching perfectly. The focus this time was on capacity building among entrepreneurship trainers and incubator leaders. In view of this, a two day bootcamp with four sessions has been conducted with the eminent speakers Mr. Sundar Viswanathan, Mr. Siddarth Apaya, Ms. Shylaja Chetlur and Dr. Aarthi Ram, had discussions on Ideas scouting and validation, User & Market research, Lean Canvas Model and Pitching Perfect.
As part of the grand challenge to scout for innovators in STEM toys conducted by MMIP in collaboration with Funskool, a 2-weekend workshop was delivered to the 22 shortlisted participants on design thinking, pretotyping and developing PoC. Further training was given on making a competitive pitch deck.
In an enlightening fireside chat on 9th of July with Mr. Vijayarajan, Chief Technical Partner of InnAccel Pvt. Ltd. and KarthickJothi, the founder of MCC incubated Start-Up- Allytriz Technologies, shed light on the challenges and opportunities for healthcare start-ups.
A 21 day internship organized by the Computational Science Laboratory, MMIP from 1st to 21st July grabbed the opportunity for external students and research scholars to acquire knowledge in the field of Computational Drug Design.
A two day workshop on 3D Printing and TinkerCAD for school students provided training on usage of 3D Printer and electronic gadgets for tinkering. Around 30 students from MCC-Rural Service League school have attended and benefited from the two day programme.
Start-ups associated with MMIP had the opportunity to showcase their products at the StartupTN Incubators Meet held on 2nd August at Chennai Trade Centre.
On 11th of August, the final demo day for the STEMathon Challenge was held at Madras Christian College. The top 10 innovators had showcased their products and were given prize awards by the Funskool.
